Where is Fort Richardson? Is Fort Richardson in the Arctic? Is it in the wilderness? (1 Answer)
Answered by Admin: Fort Richardson is in Anchorage, Alaska, which is not in the Arctic but is near wilderness. It does get very cold in winter. Anchorage is a modern city, but there are a lot of green areas nearby.
I heard there are bears and wolves at Fort Richardson? (1 Answer)
Answered by Admin: That's true. Bears are sometimes seen in Anchorage, and Alaska does have wolves. Moose and deer sometimes walk through town. This isn't an everyday thing, and you might live here for years without seeing a wild animal in town.
If you see a bear or other wild animal on the streets of Anchorage, back off slowly, walk away as calmly as possible, and call 911 to report the problem.
My nephew is stationed here. He is 18 and getting married in 7 weeks and they need everything. I was thinking about a gift card for a gift, but is it cheaper for military members to buy things on base rather than a Bed Bath and Beyond, Macys or Nordstrom? (1 Answer)
